You can lose weight by following a healthy, well balanced diet but remember, Rome was not built in a day and losing 25 pounds does not happen overnight.

Weight loss happens by burning more calories than you take in and not by taking supplements or diet pills. If you truly want to burn fat and lose weight, you must establish a balanced diet of healthy eating at a calorie intake that will result in weight loss.

To lose weight, most women should plan a balanced diet between 1100 to 1400 calories per day. Men should plan between 1500 to 1800 calories each day to lose weight. You can add or subtract  100 - 200 calories from your diet depending on your size and activity level.

This represents an overall decrease of calories consumption by 25% to 30%. Include fruits and vegetables so that you create a well balanced diet. Strive to eat 4 to 5 meals through the day so you're not as tempted to eat junk (high carb) food later in the day. You should expect to lose about a pound per week, which is the proper way to lose weight. This way you avoid starving and fad diets. The weight you lose will stay off and not suddenly come back because you're maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
