Burning
Calories and Losing Fat

Contrary to popular opinion, burning calories does not happen by taking herbs or diet pills - There's a better way. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration states that there are no magic pills for losing weight or reducing calories.

Unfortunately, weight loss products don't live up to their promise of burning fat or cutting calories because nothing has been developed that works. That's why most people are skeptical of overnight solutions with promises of easy fat loss.

Overweight is at epidemic proportions and if a company could simply give you a pill or liquid solution to burn fat and calories, everybody would be slim.

Though there is no easy way for burning fat or calories, you can increase the rate you burn calories by increasing your activity level. Simple things like walking more during the day or taking a daily 2 mile walk is the secret to increasing the burn rate of calories.

A fast pace walk burns by a 200 pound persons burns about 250 calories for a 30 minute walk. A one hour walk burns about 500 calories for the same person. A 150 pound person burns 140 calories for a 30 minute walk and close to 300 calories for a fast pace walk of 1 hour .

Most people claim that they don't have time to exercise. But if you intend to lose weight, you must either reduce your intake of calories each day or increase your metabolism. A combination of exercise and good diet will increase your metabolism and decrease overall calories consumption causing you to lose weight.

Weight loss always happens by using more calories than you take in. If at the end of everyday, you can create a deficit of calories, you will lose weight week by week. A goal for losing weight should be 1 pound per week.

Creating a deficit of calories that causes 1 pound a week weight loss is healthy and will not cause drastic cut in overall calories to your daily diet, which prevents food binges which are common when attempting to diet and lose weight.
