Dear Editor, I'm 42 years old and I can't seem to lose any weight. I diet and exercise like but nothing happens. My young niece just lost 25 pounds and she eats much more than me. I feel like giving up but my conscious won't let me. Can you give me some advice. I'm really frustrated! ~ ~ Sabrina Dear Sabrina, We can relate to your frustration. Many of our readers have the same issue with losing weight. Though it's not popular, the way to lose weight is to burn more calories during the day. You should also monitor your food intake to verify that you're not eating too much. The best way to do this is to plan each of your meals during the day and eat 3 to 5 small meals each day. Reduce your overall calorie consumption by 25% to 30% and increase the amount of exercise. For exercise, we like to suggest that you ride a stationary bike. The reason is that bike riding burns a lot more calories than most exercise and you can do it everyday in front of the TV watching your favorite program. Ride your stationary bike for 30 minutes each day at 40% of your maximum intensity. The time will past by very fast while you enjoy TV. The combine exercise and diet
plan will help you past the difficulty and frustration until you get to
your target weight.
