Dear Editor, I'm overweight by more than 50 pounds. Every time I move around or attempt to exercise, my joints start to hurt. I'm always depress and I hate the look of my body. I'm motivated to lose weight but what can I do to lose weight and not be disappointed? ~ ~ Shawna Dear Shawna, One of the problem that contributed to you being over-weight is the lack of exercise. Less movement leads to obesity and sore joints. Always check with your doctor before beginning any new fitness or dieting program but you are a good candidate for a fitness and diet overhaul. If walking is too strenuous on your joints, consider a stationary bike with back support, which burns lots of calories and is easy on the joints. Combine your new fitness routine with a good dieting program and you will achieve in time, the body you always wanted. The trick is consistency. Ride your stationary bike while watching your favorite television or radio program daily for 30 minutes. Dieting is extremely important but make it fun. Don't starve yourself. Eat every 2 or 3 hours and eat between 1200 and 1400 calories of healthy foods per day. Plan each meal. Do your best to avoid refined sugar products and stick to veggies, lean meats and whole grain products. These foods will help you burn excess fat much quicker and make you feel better about yourself. Dieting is a state of mind. Once
you see the weight start falling off, it will be easier to stick to your
new routine of diet and exercise. You can lose those 50 pounds in 6
months are less.
