The best way to lose weight is to develop a healthy eating plan that will allow your body to burn more calories than it takes in. Healthy dieting does not happen by starving yourself or taking weight loss supplements.

This leaves room for other food items such as grains, usually found in breads, cereal or beans. However, you should probably limit bread consumption to lose weight. Including some of your favorite snack food is very important to staying on a good plan. 

The problem with most diets is they tend to be overly restrictive by not allowing you to eat foods that you like. Calories do matter but you can always reduce calories by the way you prepare foods or by simply eating less portions.
