Dear Editor,
I’m really focused on losing 30
pounds. I’m currently 5’ 4” and weigh 170 pounds. I need to lose weight
fast and get down to 140 pounds but nothing I do works. I reduced
calories and exercise 3 times a week and my weight has not budge in 3
months. What am I’m doing wrong?

Dear JoAnn,
The problem may be your diet.
Though you reduced calories and exercise regularly, you may be carb
sensitive and the foods you eat are not allowing you to lose weight. Try
reducing your carb intake to less than 100 grams per day and increase
your protein intake to 150 grams per day.
No carbs after 5 pm unless it
comes from leafy or non-starch vegetables. Lunch and dinner should
consist of a lean meat like chicken breast or roast turkey breast and a
non-starch vegetable.
Keep your total calorie intake
less than 1400 calories per day and eat main meals with 2 between meal
snacks. That means you eat 5 times per day. Within 4 to 5 months you
will lose 30 or more pounds and you’ll never feel hungry or deprived.
Maintain your exercise because it’s a fast and safe way to boost your
metabolism.
