Liquid Diets - It's Not What You Think


 

Most people try liquid diets to lose weight quick. However, these diets seldom work. Usually, the person ends up gaining more weight and becomes very discouraged. Why? Because liquid diets set you up for failure. Below are 4 reasons you should avoid liquid diets of any type
  • Increases Appetite - Most people are not aware that when they attempt a crash diets (aka liquid diets) that they inadvertently send a signal to their body that says "You are about to be starved - Do Something."  Your body reacts by increasing it's appetite. That's why most people binge (overeat) after going on this type of diet.

     
  • Ineffective for Losing Weight - The few people who manage to stay on this horrible diet long enough to lose weight eventually gain it all back. Usually within weeks. Starving your body into submission through liquid diets is not the answer.

     
  • Lack of Energy - Because liquid diets lack balance nutrition, they may cause all sorts of physical and emotional problems. One of the biggest complaints is the lack of energy. When you consume too few calories, you will not have adequate energy to get through the day.
     
  • Causes Irritability - The only thing worse than lack of energy is to be irritable all day. Due to the lack of calories and nutrients, your mood changes to irritability. Do you remember how it feels to be really irritable just because you're extremely hungry. That's what you have to look forward to with liquid diets. It's a lose-lose proposition.
