How to Make Low Calorie Sandwich Foods

 

Sandwiches from restaurant are loaded with fat though the meat may be low in calorie and fat. Mayonnaise and cream sauces add a bunch of calories to a normally low calorie meal. The best ways to keep foods like sandwiches low in calorie is to:

(1) Avoid tuna sandwiches in restaurants which are loaded with fattening mayonnaise and average 700 calorie and 50 grams of fat. If foods such as tuna has not been prepared, request that your sandwich be prepared with just a small amount of dressing or mayonnaise.


(2) Make tuna sandwiches at home using light mayonnaise. Use tuna packed in water. The average tuna sandwich prepared like this is about 250 calories. By preparing foods at home, you can generally reduce a lot of the calorie.


(3) Avoid mayonnaise and sauces in all sandwiches and foods. Replace with light mayonnaise or mustard and vinegar.


(4) Never use oil on sandwiches. That really adds calorie and fat.


(5) Use light or reduce calorie salad dressing for a great 
tasting sandwich. Most light dressing are great on taste while low in calorie.


(6) Avoid regular cheese. Use reduce fat cheese 
(less than 5 grams of fat per serving)


(7) Request light mayonnaise, Bar-B-Q sauce or honey mustard sauce when eating sandwiches at fast food or restaurants. Most "light" version sauce are low calorie.
