Low Cholesterol Foods for Weight Loss

 

Studies have shown that diets are extremely important for people with high cholesterol. Eating low cholesterol foods can lower your bad cholesterol count and help you lose weight. So what does low cholesterol foods have to do with losing weight?  To start, most foods that are low in cholesterol are also low in saturated fat.
 
Foods high in saturated fat tend to increase your low density lipoproteins, better known as LDL. Increase LDL leads to more fatty deposits in the walls of your artery which eventually causes heart disease.  Below are low cholesterol foods that will reduce your LDL.


Breakfast

  • Other cream sauces or soups
  • Butter or Margarines
  • Fatty red meats
  • eggs (use Egg Beaters instead)
  • Cakes
  • Cookies
  • Chips
  • Candy bars
  • Popcorn at Movie Theaters
  • Microwave popcorn (unless it is a "light" version)
