Losing weight takes determination. You must burn more calories than you
take in each day to successfully lose weight. If you skip meals and stop
eating, your body goes into starvation mode. Within a few days or maybe
a week your appetite will be out of control and any weight that is lost
will
be quickly regained.
What is the difference between people who are successful at losing
weight and those who lose motivation? Well, assuming that a person is
maintaining a diet with fewer calories (not too few or diet will
backfire) successful dieters are good at keeping the image of what they
want to look like always in their mind.
Imagery is very helpful to your motivation. Have you ever seen someone
lose a tremendous amount of weight? They usually look like a different
person. If you can create an image of what you want to look like and
keep that image in your mind, you will better withstand the temptation
to overeat that is sure to hit you.
Cut total calorie intake by 500 to 600 calories per day. Walk 3 to 5
times a week for 30 minutes and "daydream" about your new body that will
slowly
but surely develop from your routine. This in a nutshell is how you lose
weight and keep it off. Also, find an online
diet buddy for better motivation and support to lose weight.
Once the weight starts falling off at a comfortable rate, the motivation
to stick to your routine will be there. Most people fail by trying to
implement an impossible diet with no exercise routine. You need to have
a sensible diet plan.
Weight loss without exercise is very possible
but results will be slower. Remember the rule of Calories Burned vs.
Calories Consumed. Obviously, exercise is beneficial for burning
calories if you can maintain a healthy diet that is calorie restrictive.
Some people try to follow an impossible diet by eating only once a day
or eating too few calories. They get frustrated and disappointed when
they
are not able to maintain the diet for any reasonable time. TODAY
you must be determined to plan a healthy diet, stay on it consistently
and find time to exercise.
Motivate yourself by picturing how you'll look 20 to 50 pounds lighter. Keep that image in your mind.
When you're tempted to eat something that you shouldn't, remember what
you want your BODY TO LOOK LIKE and that you must stay CONSISTENT to
achieve it.
The challenge of losing weight becomes much easier when you successfully
achieve small steps such as maintaining your diet for 7 days. Bad habits
are replaced and you feel much better about yourself.
